APST Marpat loadout

Every APST member should strive to budget to buy the equipment needed to make them a useful addition to the team. All of these items have priorities on them, some things are strictly recommended. The only requirement for being a member of APST is to have a standard uniform set of MARPAT Woodland BDUs with load-bearing equipment and own your own AEG. Beyond this, there are other items we recommend for your load-out.

Required base uniform:
MARPAT Woodland BDU Top
MARPAT Woodland BDU Pant
MARPAT Woodland Boonie Cover or Helmet Cover
OD (Olive Drab) Tactical Tailor vest or Plate Carrier MOLLE2 Style LBE
Black Combat Boots (Standard Issue or better)

We also recommend that any additional accessory gear be OD or MARPAT.

APST Patches

APST team arm patch

APST patches are issued to members when they join APST. The APST arm patch must be on your left shoulder, centered on the arm pocket with the tip of the peak pointing at your shoulder seam.Nametapes
Nametapes purchased for APST’s outdoor uniform must be MARPAT to match the uniform, and the wording for your team patch should be “A.P.S.T.” with exact punctuation and capitalization. Your “A.P.S.T.” nametape must be centered over your left breast-pocket, folded under to match the width of the pocket. (Do not cut, it will fray) It should be angled just like the pocket. Your team callsign should be on your right breast-pocket in the same fashion.

Weaponry

Whenever possible, APST recommends use of US or NATO issue weaponry. By using the same types of weapon systems, we have optimal coverage for sharing mags on the field. We do not forbid the use of non-standard weapons, although we expect those who do to have enough mags to support themselves. We also expect the team members not to burden the team with lack of battery power, please make sure you have all of your bases covered when it comes to your batteries.

Primary: M4/M16 Variant (Exception: SAWs and Sniper Weaponry)
Indoor: MP5 series
Sidearm: Glock 19 or 1911
Magazines: 6-12 Standards, 2 spare sidearm mags

Other Gear

We try our best to use the same types of equipment so that we can function like a real unit. APST recommends gear that we’ve abused and used on the field weekend after weekend.

Load-Bearing Equipment:
MOLLE style load-bearing equipment (OD). Many APST members purchase plate carrier rigs from Proud Tactical Gear. Your rig should be optimal for carrying extra magazines, water, a spare battery, a radio and rations.

Radios:
GMRS Radio w/ Earbud Setup
GMRS transmit with 2 watts and have 5 mile range

Goggles:
Budget: Shooting glasses.
Recommended: WileyX or Knockoff, Field Tested Custom Mesh
